Located alongside the Brisbane River, Orleigh Park appeals to anyone wanting some time outdoors. Beautiful, big Moreton Bay figs line the park and provide plenty of shade for picnics and children to play.

Also named Froggy Park after the large frog and tongue slide, the facilities here include multiple playgrounds, BBQ and picnic shelters, water and public toilets. Transport to and from the park is easy, with street parking available, bus and citycat terminals at the park's end, and a bikeway throughout which connects to the city's bikeways.

The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are heritage-listed cliffs located at Kangaroo Point just across the Brisbane River from the Brisbane CBD in Queensland, Australia. A popular recreation spot, they are conveniently close to the city and the South Bank Parklands. It can be reached by the Pacific Motorway, South-East Busway or a ferry to Thornton Street Wharf. The cliffs were formed after stone was quarried from the site and used in the construction of a number of local structures.

The riverside City Botanic Gardens are Brisbane's original botanic gardens.

Being surrounded by the four densely populated suburbs of Carina Heights, Camp Hill, Coorparoo and Holland Park, it might be surprising for some to learn that Whites Hill Reserve is far more than just a pocket of green space in Brisbane's south-east.

Exploring this place makes it feel almost big enough to be a suburb in its own right, except instead of houses and roads you've got 53 acres of native bushland perfect for hiking, picnics and recreation and all just seven kilometres from the CBD.

The sheer size of the nature reserve makes it confusing to know where the best place to enter is, but judging by the signposts and main car park on Boundary Road in Camp Hill, this entrance is the most logical option. But that said, you can also enter the reserve from Pine Mountain Road in Holland Park, and Jones Road from Carina Heights.
